Yesterday I got a message via Twitter from Colm Ryan (@colm_ryan) to let me know that bluebells were plentiful at the stone circle in Curragh Wood near Midleton. So off I went to check them out. As I walked along the woodland path the bluebells were few and far between and I began to wonder if Colm had exaggerated a little. And then I came to the stone circle at the top of the wood (it's about half an hour from the start of the walk) and - wow!- there they were in profusion. Absolutely wonderful, especially in this ancient and magical place.
As beautiful as bluebells are it is not easy to make a good photograph from them - at least as far as I'm concerned. They look magnificent in reality but photos rarely do justice to the scene as experienced. But not to worry: better by far to enjoy the peace and the beauty of this place now looking its very best. Thank you Colm.
