A very useful service is to upload some of your photos to Google Earth. It helps people get some idea of what a place looks like and it can be of particular interest to photographers scouting for locations.
For example, one of my favourite spots on the face of the planet is Ballybrannigan Strand in East Cork. This is how part of East Cork appears on GE:
This is how the Strand appears when you zoom in closer (unfortunately it is not in high definition in the current release of GE) and I have highlighted in red the photograph symbol.
When you click on the symbol in Google Earth the following photo (one of mine) appears:
You can upload photos via www.panoramio.com
It takes a few days for the photos to be approved and then another few days before they appear on Google Earth. They don't have to be masterpieces of the photographic art - most photos are just snapshots but they fulfill the purpose which is to show people an aspect of a particular place.

Hi,@macaonghusa here.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, how did you geotag your photo or do you manually select the location?
When you upload on to Panoramio you are asked, as part of the process, to map the location on Google Earth. No geotagging required.
