Brown Island is about three miles from where I live in Carrigtwohill and over the years it has been a favourite location of mine for early morning photography. I was down there this morning to capture the dawn. It didn't look too promising when I arrived at about 6:50am - rain clouds were threatening to smother the sunrise but they scattered enough to allow some nice light to peek through.

ReplyDeleteLovely shots how do you get to Browns Island?
Thanks Eoin.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little difficult to give exact instructions but here goes:
Take the turn off to Barryscourt at Carrigtwohill, turn right at the first fork in the road, turn left at the X roads (going straight on would bring you to the Rossmore Recycling Centre - AKA the Dump), drive for about a mile and then take the 2nd turn right, drive to the bottom of that road.
If you go to the www.osi.ie site click on the interactive map and then clikc on Search using these coordinates - X: 584226, Y:570451.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
John
